Father Robert Barron speaks in Christchurch

29 November 2011

A large crowd of over 150 people turned out to hear acclaimed author, speaker and theologian Fr Robert Barron.

Fr Robert Barron is internationally recognised as an inspiring teacher. He has, perhaps more than any other, heeded the call of both Pope John Paul and Pope Benedict for priests to use technology in the mission of spreading the Gospel.

He is the founder of Word On Fire (www.WordOnFire.org) offering daily blogs, articles, commentaries, and over ten years of weekly sermon podcasts.

During his presentation Fr Barron spoke about evangelism being based on the person of Jesus.  He spent some time speaking about and showing his new 10 series DVD programme called CATHOLICISM.  He also responded to a number of questions from those present.

Fr Barron has been in the Diocese for one week giving a retreat to our clergy.
